Los Angeles experienced citywide festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a thrilling seven-game World Series championship. Supporters worldwide united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has secured consecutive championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Massive Turnout
Los Angeles area celebrations included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Social media videos show countless of Angelenos flooding downtown streets, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an translator.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist cruising a light blue classic car around the field.

Celebrations began prior to the parade, with Dodgers fans setting off fireworks in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.

However, the team owner received a cooler reception at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter taking the stage to a combination of applause and jeers, with negative shouts interrupting his speech.
The World Series served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year demonstrated as much if not more support.
“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman remarked. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
