Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a individual who breached a fence and seized the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or deported from Singapore.

A viral footage reveals the individual from Australia bypassing photographers and charging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a yellow carpet surrounded by fans.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being detained", though legal records revealed that he was due to be present on the next day. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney show in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last year.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is clearly a punishable act," stated an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Express Concern Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Several followers criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed experiencing PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented one more message on Instagram.

Some attendees also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while some requested online networks to ban Mr Wen's content.

Response and Event Details

In videos circulating online, Grande seemed startled when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Many of supporters had gathered in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The motion picture, to be released on 21 November, is the sequel of a dual version of the acclaimed stage show Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely relationship between two contrasting sorceresses.

The show itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning film of the previous year in the UK, and received 10 Oscar nominations, earning several for best costume and set decoration.
